Sometimes the best things are the simplest. I really want the avocado now but it has to have the cracked pepper. I also like walnut oil on my avocados.

if you haven’t heard of Jamie Oliver yet then search youtube for anything of his you can find. He’s a great chef that cooks amazing simple food. This video is him doing a whole load of summer recipes. I’ll be making his pulled brisket chili tonight and i’ll post photos. enjoy.
Gorgeous Honey Pistachio cake.
I made this last summer and stumbled across the photo earlier today, i cant remember where the recipe is from but it’s was so delicious that i have to make it my first post.
heres the recipe.
5 Large eggs
225ml Greek yoghurt
225g caster sugar
75g ground almonds
zest of 1 lemon and 1 orange
150g plain flour
200g semolina
2 level teaspoons of baking powder
200ml of mild olive oil
- Mix all together and pour into a greased (with Olive oil and flour) baking dish, about 22x29cm.
- Bake for about half a hour. Let cake cook for 1 hour.
- Take a knife and poke small holes all over the cooled cake
150ml honey
150g pistachios
juice of a lemon and an orange
- Toast pistachios and add honey. Add the juice from both the fruits. Simmer briefly
- pour on the pistachio, honey, juice mixture
when you want to flavour a cake with a syrup you either need a cold syrup and a hot cake or a hot syrup and a cold cake
